Swartland Tanning
Swartland Tanning is situated in the town of Paarl, in the Western Cape,South Africa, approximately 50 km from Cape Town.
The tannery is owned by Swartland Ostriches Ltd, thus ensuring a steady supply of skins for processing. The tannery boasts four modern tanning drums giving it a capacity of some 3000 skins per month. These skins are available in natural Crust, Dyed Crust and/or finished colours per customer requirements.
The plant is managed by Hennie Smit who has a high degree of craftsmanship gained from experience over a long period in the tanning trade. He is ably assisted by two well qualified technicians, one a wet end specialist and one a finishing specialist, who ensure constant colour consistency and superior quality.
New and exciting colours and finishes are being researched continuously in order to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction at all times.
